Highland Utility Relief Ends September 23
Highland residents who fell behind on utility payments after the August 11 storm have until September 23 before normal late fees and shut-off enforcement resume.
The Town Council's emergency order suspended shut-offs through September 10 and waived late penalties through September 23; regular billing rules apply after that, though customers still owe any charges accrued during the relief period.

Town Club to Close After 79 Years in Highland
After nearly eight decades of birthdays, date nights, family dinners, and Friday-night regulars, Town Club at 2904 W. 45th St. served its final meal Saturday after 79 years in business. Owners Mark and Tina Hines, who have run the restaurant for 29 years, are retiring and selling the building.
Generations of Highland families have returned for longtime favorites like hand-cut steaks, lake perch, frog legs, oversized martinis, steak tacos, and the famous donut-shaped shrimp and fried cheese squares.
The restaurant became part of countless local memories, from engagements and anniversaries to families returning to the same booths year after year. A new restaurant is expected to take over the space, but it won’t be Town Club. For many Highland residents, the closing marks the end of a familiar piece of local history.
