🏈 Perfect Seasons + A Super Bowl Sunday for the Highland Titans
Highland Pop Warner wrapped up the regular season with plenty to celebrate, and a couple of Titans teams still have big games ahead this weekend.
The 8U, 9U and 10U Titans all finished the regular season undefeated, and another Highland team went unbeaten in conference play. The 11U Titans also closed out their season with a win.
But the two youngest Titan teams aren’t quite finished yet. The 7U Titans will play South Bend Irish in their Super Bowl on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at the Dean and Barbara White Center in Merrillville.
The 6U Titans will also take the field Sunday at 1:30 p.m. against the LaPorte Slicers at Griffith High School for their final game of the season.
Meanwhile, Highland’s 8U, 9U, 10U and 12U playoff teams have a bye this week. The 8U and 10U teams will move into semifinal play next week, while the 9U and 12U Titans have earned spots directly in their championship games.
Congratulations to the players, cheerleaders, coaches and families on a strong season - and good luck to the 6U and 7U Titans this Sunday!

🛒 97 Years in Highland: Strack & Van Til Celebrates With Giveaways + Giving Back
Strack & Van Til is celebrating 97 years in business, and the Highland-headquartered grocer is marking the milestone with both a giveaway and another round of community giving.
Through Oct. 27, shoppers who use their SVT Rewards account in-store or online are automatically entered for a chance to win one of ten $500 Strack & Van Til gift cards. Adults 18 and older in Indiana, Illinois and Micigan are eligible, and no purchase is necessary to enter.
At the same time, Strack & Van Til has launched its latest Checkout Challenge, inviting customers to round up their purchases through Oct. 25 to benefit the Pink Ribbon Society. The Northwest Indiana organization supports people affected by breast cancer through education and programs including mammogram assistance, vouchers and wigs.
It is one of many community efforts the locally headquartered grocer takes part in throughout the year, from checkout fundraisers for area organizations to stepping up when neighbors need help.
One giveaway reminder from Strack & Van Til: winners will be contacted directly by the company. Do not click links in social-media comments claiming you have won, and the company says it will never ask for credit card information to claim a prize.
Want to enter? Use your SVT Rewards account when you shop or visit the company’s giveaway page for the complete rules and mail-in entry option.
